As a lifelong local resident, I have my own personal history of having “been there and done that” when it comes to wrangling with the struggles of life. Because of this, I have a firsthand understanding of the challenges ahead and great respect for your autonomy as you begin your journey of discovery and the healing process that follows. My goal, regardless of your specific issue, is to assist you in finding solutions and empower you to seek new direction in life as YOU determine your own path.
I have had the privilege of working with adolescents, adults and families with a wide range of issues - substance abuse, depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal tendencies, and grief and loss that also include end of life challenges. Addressing these issues is never easy, but I am available to my clients to encourage a mindful approach to life and offer concrete ideas and suggestions for positive cognitive and behavioral change.
The best way to chart the roadmap to your future, is to take an in depth look at where you have been. My goal is to provide you with a comfortable and safe environment in which to do just that. In our effort to achieve this, we will explore your life using strong narrative therapy to discover and build on your strengths, while I assist you to uphold your dignity and worth as an individual. After all, it is your strength that has brought you this far in life. I want you to be comfortable enough to share that journey without fear or anxiety.
During our time spent together throughout your counseling sessions, my role is to help you in uncovering answers and to support you in your healing and development. Your role is your active participation in your commitment to heal. In order to help maintain your progress, I am a very big promoter in making self-care a priority. For me personally, that comes by way of music, singing, playing the piano, and cooking. For you, that may look very different, but together we will discover the things that breathe life into you and the best way to incorporate those things into your daily routine.
The bottom line is that I want to see lives heal, flourish and continue to grow in ways that impacts others in a positive manner. Serving my community in this way brings me a renewed sense of purpose and happiness. Seeking counseling will provide you with the same. I look forward to getting to know those of you who are ready to take the next step for their future, as together we build a solid foundation that will last a lifetime!
